Ovarian Cancer: Early signs and Symptoms
Ovarian cancer is commonly known as the silent killer as it doesn’t show symptoms for long. However, there are some symptoms which may occur in the early stages and help diagnose the disease.
Bloating and abdominal swelling
The feeling of the abdomen being full of gas is bloating. You may notice an increase in the size of the abdomen.
Urgent or frequent urination
The need to take toilet - breaks at short intervals and sometimes barely making it to the toilet on time.
Indigestion
Digestive discomforts like indigestion, gases, constipation or heartburn.
Pain
Pain in the pelvic area or even in the abdomen sometimes can be a warning sign to watch out for.
Fatigue
Being low on energy and easily getting tired must be taken into consideration.
Loss of appetite
Feeling of being full even after a light meal can be one of the symptoms. Also, any unexplained change in weight should be taken seriously.
Menstrual irregularities
Absent, infrequent or irregular periods without an explainable reason such as pregnancy, hormonal imbalances or certain medication.
Back pain
Lower back ache which often spreads to the pelvic area.
