Rachel Hollis has inspired hundreds of thousands of people with a photo of herself in a bikini while on holiday
If you've ever felt body conscious while on the beach then this woman's story is guaranteed to make you feel better.
When Rachel Hollis posted a picture of herself on the beach, wearing a bikini, to her Facebook page, something amazing happened.
It racked up over 300,000 likes, which is a fair more than she was expecting.
The reason for the incredible response is because of the powerful caption she gave the image, which was an inspirational message to mothers.
"I have stretch marks and I wear a bikini. I have a belly that’s permanently flabby from carrying three giant babies and I wear a bikini. My belly button is saggy. . . (which is something I didn’t even know was possible before!!) and I wear a bikini.
"I wear a bikini because I’m proud of this body and every mark on it. Those marks prove that I was blessed enough to carry my babies and that flabby tummy means I worked hard to lose what weight I could.
"I wear a bikini because the only man who’s (sic) opinion matters knows what I went through to look this way. That same man says he’s never seen anything sexier than my body, marks and all.
"They aren’t scars ladies, they’re stripes and you’ve earned them. Flaunt that body with pride! #HollisHoliday."
Positive comments from other mothers flooded in on the post
"You have no idea of how empowering your words are to someone as myself," one comment begins.
"I gave birth to my last baby (my third son) 6 months ago. I have many stretch marks... and my confidence has plummeted. Reading this has made me realize how im seeing everything in the wrong way... "
Another comment reads: "Thank you for sharing this! Finally another woman who's stomach that looks like mine."
One brilliant comment on the thread is from a war veteran: "I don't have legs, but I still wear shorts! My body is covered with scars from a land mine encounter, but I wear shorts. At least I don't have to worry about snakebites, cold feet, stubbing my toes, twisting my ankles, and buying shoes is a breeze..."
