When 16 year old Honduran Neysi began screaming in her coffin, a desperate attempt was made to break her free of the concrete tomb and rescue her from her coffin.
Neysi's mother said that doctors wrote the death certificate too quickly and that she didn't think her daughter looked dead.
When they finally got to her, family began fanning her and praying, but she wasn't screaming anymore.
They tried everything to get her to respond. The teen was three months pregnant when she heard gun shots outside her home in Western Honduras. She collapsed to the floor and began foaming at the mouth. The family panicked and thought evil spirits had possessed her, calling a priest to come.
Three hours after being rushed to the hospital she was pronounced dead. It is now believed that a panic attack stopped her heart momentarily, causing the hospital to believe she was dead. 24 hours after the funeral, the father of Neysi's baby, Randolph Gonzales, was visiting his mother's grave when he heard screaming coming from Neysi's grave.
