Lamar Odom Is Fighting For His Life, Found Unconscious
Former NBA star continues to fight for his life in a Las Vegas hospital
UPDATE: As of Friday, the former NBA star woke up from his coma, and was able to say "Hi baby" to his estranged wife Khloe Kardashian, before going to sleep. While Odom is now breathing on his own without the help of a machine, his condition remains "guarded." He is currently still on kidney dialysis, and he is still wearing an oxygen mask.
Kardashian, who has been making decisions for the 35-year-old athlete while he was in his indisposed state, has reportedly tightened security and is controlling the flow of visitors.
There seems to be a glimmer of hope coming out of a Las Vegas hospital where Lamar Odom remains in critical condition. Alleged sources familiar with the situation tell TMZ the former NBA star's heart function is "much better."
Tests on Odom's heart were run Friday morning and there were reportedly signs of improvement to his health. Doctors are allegedly telling Odom's friends and family that this is good news, as a critical organ is responding.
Doctors have also asked for "calm" in Odom's room because they do not want him stimulated, which could affect the healing process. Khloé Kardashian, Odom's estranged wife, is said to still be by his bedside.
The report comes after word that Odom allegedly fluttered his eyes and squeezed his former sister-in-law Kim Kardashian's hand.
Odom has been in the hospital since Tuesday after being found unconscious at the Love Ranch brothel. Witnesses say the athlete was found on his side with a "mucus-type liquid coming out of his nose and mouth" after using cocaine and sexual-performance supplement pills.
Conflicting reports that suggest Odom's health is deteriorating leave his condition up in the air, but it's clear that those around the athlete are still holding out hope.
In their first statement since Odom's hospitalization, the Kardashian-Jenner clan wrote, "As a family, we've decided to hold off on publishing content across our apps while we continue to support and pray for Lamar. Thank you for your kindness and understanding during this difficult time."
